Crest Pontoons is a well-known brand in the boating industry, especially in Naperville, Illinois. The company has a long history that dates back to 1957 when it was founded by Charles Heleo. Since then, Crest Pontoons has grown into one of the leading manufacturers of luxury pontoons and boats in the United States. The Beginnings Charles Heleo started his career as an automotive mechanics teacher at North Central College in Naperville. However, he had a passion for boating and spent most of his free time on Lake Michigan with his family. In 1957, he decided to turn this passion into a business venture and started building wooden pontoon boats from his garage. At that time, pontoon boats were not very popular among recreational boaters as they were mostly used for commercial purposes such as fishing and transportation. However, Charles saw potential in these versatile vessels and believed that they could be transformed into luxurious leisure boats. Innovation and Growth With hard work and determination, Charles' business began to grow steadily. In 1961, Crest Pontoons built its first steel-framed pontoon boat with aluminum tubes instead of wood planks. This innovation made their boats more durable and lighter than traditional wooden ones. In the following years, Crest Pontoons continued to innovate by introducing features such as wrap-around seating arrangements on their pontoons - something that was unheard of at that time. They also introduced fiberglass hulls which further improved the performance of their boats. By the late 1960s, Crest Pontoons had established itself as a leader in pontoon boat manufacturing with dealerships across different states within the US. It was during this period that they moved from their garage operation to a larger facility located on Ogden Avenue in Naperville. Expansion and Acquisitions As demand for their products grew rapidly throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, Crest Pontoons expanded its operations and opened a new facility in nearby Aurora, Illinois. This move allowed them to increase production and offer more models to their customers. In 1985, Charles Heleo decided it was time to retire and sold the company to Brunswick Corporation - one of the largest marine companies in the world. This acquisition brought significant changes as Brunswick invested heavily in research and development for Crest Pontoons. Under Brunswick's ownership, Crest Pontoons continued to expand its product line with the introduction of luxury pontoons such as the Savannah series which featured upscale amenities like plush seating, bar stations, and even hot tubs on board. Modern Era Today, Crest Pontoons is owned by Berkshire Hathaway Marine Group - a subsidiary of Warren Buffett's conglomerate Berkshire Hathaway Inc. Under this ownership, Crest has continued to grow and innovate while staying true to its roots of quality craftsmanship and attention-to-detail. Their modern facility located on Wall Street in Naperville spans over 250000 square feet with state-of-the-art manufacturing processes that ensure every boat leaving their assembly line meets high-quality standards. They also have dealerships across different states within the US as well as international markets such as Canada, Europe, Australia, among others. Crest Pontoons offers a wide range of pontoon boats from entry-level models for family fun days on the lake to luxurious tri-toon boats designed for cruising or entertaining guests. Their commitment to innovation can be seen through features like electric power-folding hardtops that allow boaters to easily change between open-air or covered boating experiences at just a push of a button. Community Involvement Apart from being an industry leader in pontoon boat manufacturing, Crest Pontoons is also actively involved in giving back to their community. They participate in local events such as parades and sponsor various charities including Make-A-Wish Foundation where they donate a portion of their sales to help grant wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions. Conclusion Crest Pontoons has come a long way from its humble beginnings in Charles Heleo's garage. The company's commitment to innovation and quality has made it one of the most trusted brands in the boating industry, especially in Naperville, Illinois. With over six decades of experience, Crest Pontoons continues to provide customers with luxurious and reliable boats that make every day on the water an unforgettable experience.

Pontoon boats have been an iconic part of the boating world since their inception in the early 1950s. These versatile watercrafts, also known as party barges or pontoon boats, are a popular choice among recreational boaters for their stability, spaciousness, and ease of use. Among the many manufacturers in the market today, Crest Pontoons stands out as a top contender due to its commitment to innovation, quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. Crest Pontoons was founded in Owosso, Michigan by David Slikkers in 1957. The company's humble beginnings can be traced back to when David built his first wooden pontoon boat at only thirteen years old. He continued honing his craft over the years until he established Crest Marine Inc., which quickly became known for producing high-quality pontoons that were not just functional but also stylish. Today, more than six decades later, Crest Pontoons continues to uphold its reputation as one of the leading pontoon manufacturers in the industry. Its success can be attributed to three key factors: innovative design, exceptional build quality and excellent customer service. One of the main reasons why Crest Pontoons has remained at the forefront of pontoon innovation is because it constantly strives towards creating new designs that cater to changing consumer needs. This drive for innovation is evident through their continuous research and development efforts aimed at improving performance and functionality while maintaining aesthetic appeal. For instance, Crest introduced an exclusive hull design called "Waveglider" in 2012 that offers improved handling and fuel efficiency compared to traditional flat-bottomed pontoons commonly used by other manufacturers. This design features three U-shaped lifting strakes on each tube instead of two like most models on the market today. As a result, Waveglider provides better maneuverability making it easier for operators even under challenging weather conditions. Another notable feature unique to Crest Pontoons is its patented Rail-Lock system. This system provides convenient and secure attachment points for various accessories, such as tables, cup holders, and fishing rod holders. The Rail-Lock system eliminates the need to drill into the deck of the boat, thus preserving its structural integrity while also allowing for customization according to individual preferences. Besides innovation in design, Crest Pontoons is also known for its exceptional build quality. Each pontoon is hand-built with precision and care by skilled craftsmen at their manufacturing facility in Owosso. The company uses only high-quality materials such as marine-grade aluminum alloys that are corrosion-resistant and lightweight, ensuring durability without compromising performance. Crest Pontoons takes pride in sourcing all components from reputable American suppliers who share their commitment to quality. From upholstery fabrics to sound systems and electronics – every component undergoes rigorous testing before being installed on a Crest Pontoon boat. The attention to detail during construction ensures that each boat meets or exceeds industry standards for safety and reliability. In fact, Crest offers a lifetime warranty on their hulls which speaks volumes about their confidence in the strength and durability of their pontoons. Apart from producing top-notch boats, Crest Pontoons places significant emphasis on customer satisfaction through providing excellent service throughout the entire buying process - from initial inquiries up until after-sales support. Their dealerships are carefully selected based on strict criteria including reputation within the local community along with sales volume history. As a result of this meticulous selection process combined with ongoing training programs provided by Crest Marine Inc., customers can expect consistent levels of professionalism regardless of where they purchase a new Crest Pontoon boat. Moreover, customers have access to an online portal where they can customize their dream pontoon using interactive tools like 3D virtual tours before making any commitments – giving them complete control over every aspect of designing their perfect pontoon experience. Additionally, post-purchase support includes regular maintenance tips via social media channels along with easy-to-follow instructional videos for DIY enthusiasts. For more complex issues, Crest Pontoons has a dedicated customer care team available to address any concerns and ensure that customers are satisfied with their purchase. In conclusion, it is evident that Crest Pontoons stands out in the highly competitive pontoon market due to its commitment to innovation, quality craftsmanship, and excellent customer service. With over six decades of experience and a strong reputation for producing top-of-the-line pontoons, Crest continues to push the boundaries of design while also maintaining traditional values such as superior build quality and exceptional customer satisfaction. Whether you are looking for a boat for family outings or fishing trips with friends, Crest Pontoons offers something for everyone. Its extensive range of models caters to different preferences and budgets – making it possible for anyone to own a piece of boating history that will provide endless memories on the water. So why settle for an average pontoon when you can have a Crest Pontoon?

Crest Pontoons is a boating company that has been in business for over 60 years, with its roots tracing back to Naperville, Illinois. The company was founded by Charles William Heinzmann in 1957 and initially operated as Crest Marine Inc. Heinzmann was an engineer who had a passion for boating and saw the potential of pontoon boats as an affordable and versatile option for recreational water activities. He started building pontoons in his garage in Naperville, using aluminum sheets from old World War II aircrafts. The first Crest Pontoon boat was launched on Lake Michigan and quickly gained popularity among local residents. With the growing demand for these innovative boats, Heinzmann expanded his operations and moved to a larger manufacturing facility in nearby Aurora, Illinois. In the 1960s, Crest Marine became one of the leading manufacturers of pontoon boats in the Midwest region. The company continued to grow throughout the decades under different ownerships but always maintained its headquarters and production facilities in Naperville. In 1985, Crest Marine introduced a new line of luxury pontoon boats called "Savannah," which featured plush seating options, wet bars, and other high-end amenities. This move cemented Crest's reputation as a premium brand within the industry. In 1991, Brunswick Corporation acquired Crest Marine Inc., further expanding their reach into the marine market. Under Brunswick's ownership, Crest Pontoons continued to innovate and introduce new models such as "Classic" (1996) - featuring retro design elements; "Caribbean" (2002) - designed specifically for saltwater use; and "Calypso" (2013) - known for its sleek design and advanced technology features. Today, Crest Pontoons remains headquartered in Naperville with state-of-the-art facilities spanning over two million square feet. They continue to produce high-quality pontoons that are sold worldwide through their extensive network of dealers. The company prides itself on its commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction. In 2017, Crest Pontoons celebrated its 60th anniversary in business. Over the years, Crest Pontoons has received numerous awards and accolades for their innovative designs and exceptional customer service. They have also been actively involved in community outreach programs and have partnered with various organizations to promote boating safety and environmental conservation. From humble beginnings in a small garage in Naperville, Illinois, Crest Pontoons has grown into a globally recognized brand with a rich history of innovation and excellence. Today, they continue to lead the industry by providing top-quality boats that bring joy and unforgettable experiences on the water for generations to come.

Crest Pontoons is a well-known brand in the world of boating, with a history that dates back to the 1950s. The company has become synonymous with quality and innovation in pontoon boat manufacturing, making it one of the most trusted names in the industry. The Origins of Crest Pontoons Founded by David Slikkers and his father Art Slikkers, Crest Pontoons began its journey as an idea for a new type of recreational boat. In 1957, David built his first pontoon boat using aluminum tubes welded together for stability and plywood decking. This innovative design caught on quickly, and soon after, they started selling their boats under the name “Pontoon Houseboat Company.” Innovative Design & Expansion Over the next few years, Crest continued to innovate their designs by incorporating features like full-length keels for better handling and performance. By 1964, demand had grown enough for them to open a larger factory in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. As popularity grew for pontoons as pleasure boats rather than just houseboats or work vessels; Crest was quick to adapt again by introducing luxury features such as plush seating arrangements and stereo systems. In addition to improving their products' design elements over time; Crest also expanded its reach beyond just domestic markets into international waters in Europe during this decade. Ownership Changes & Further Growth In 1973 ownership changed hands when Arthur J DeBell bought Pontoon Houseboat Company from David Slikkers. He renamed it "Crest Marine" — then moved production from Michigan's Upper Peninsula downstate into Owosso MI (about an hour west of Flint). During this time; various models were introduced including: Sun Raider II (with full-width front deck), Family Cruiser (with sunken living room); Sport Pontoon (for water skiing enthusiasts), Party Barge Deluxe (a popular model that included four corner couches) and the Ultima (a fiberglass pontoon). In 1989, DeBell sold Crest Marine to a group of investors led by Bill Fenech. Under this new ownership, the company's name was changed to "Crest Pontoons" — which is still used today. Continued Innovation & Awards Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, Crest Pontoons continued its mission of innovation with features like oversized pontoons for better weight distribution and stability. They also introduced their patented All Aluminum Box Beam Construction in 2001 – a revolutionary design that greatly improved structural strength and durability. This dedication to innovation has not gone unnoticed; as Crest Pontoons has won several awards over the years for its designs including NMMA’s Innovation Award in 2017 for their introduction of “The Caribbean LX” model – which featured an extended rear deck with full-width swim platform. Acquisition by Brunswick Corporation In December 2016, Brunswick Corporation announced it had acquired Crest Pontoons as part of their efforts to expand into the pontoon boat market. This acquisition allowed them access to one of the top brands in pontoons; further solidifying their position in this segment. Under Brunswick’s ownership; Crest continues its legacy of innovation while also benefitting from being backed by a larger corporation with extensive resources for research and development. Present Day Success & Future Outlook Today, Crest Pontoons offers a wide range of models including luxury cruising boats, fishing boats, sports boats, recreational watercrafts and more. Their commitment to quality construction using advanced materials has made them one of the most sought-after brands in boating. Crest Pontoons is a leading manufacturer of luxury pontoon boats, known for its high-quality craftsmanship and innovative design. The company has a rich history dating back over 60 years. In the late 1950s, brothers Dave and Bob Mehne founded Crestliner Boats in Little Falls, Minnesota. They initially focused on building aluminum fishing boats but soon saw the potential for pontoon boats as recreational watercraft. In 1957, they built their first pontoon boat prototype using plywood decking and steel tubes for the pontoons. The following year, Crestliner introduced its first production model of a pontoon boat with aluminum tubes instead of steel. This change made the boats lighter and more durable, appealing to customers who wanted an alternative to traditional fishing or speedboats. In 1961, Crestliner was sold to Outboard Marine Corporation (OMC), which continued to expand its product line and distribution network. Under OMC's ownership, Crestliner became one of the top-selling brands in North America. In 1973, OMC decided to focus solely on outboard engines and sold Crestliner to Brunswick Corporation. While under Brunswick’s ownership from 1973-2005, Crestliner experienced significant growth and introduced several new models including tri-toon designs with larger motors for increased performance. In January 2006,Crest Pontoons was acquired by Genmar Holdings Inc., making it part of one of the world's largest boating manufacturers at that time. Shortly after this acquisition,Crest Pontoons began expanding beyond just pontoons into fiberglass deckboats as well as launching several new models across both lines. Today,Crest Pontoons operates under Polaris Industries Inc., which acquired it from Genmar Holdings Inc in March 2012.Polaris Industries is best known for manufacturing off-road vehicles such as snowmobiles and ATVs but has since expanded into other markets including boating. Naperville, Illinois is a vibrant city located in DuPage and Will counties, just 28 miles west of Chicago. With a population of over 148,000 residents, it is the fifth largest city in Illinois and has been consistently ranked as one of the best places to live in the United States. However, Naperville's history dates back much further than its current bustling atmosphere. The land that would become Naperville was first inhabited by Native American tribes such as the Potawatomi and Miami people. In 1831, settlers from New England arrived in the area led by Captain Joseph Naper. The settlement was named after him and officially founded on May 17th of that year. Initially an agricultural community with fertile soil for farming corn and other crops, Naperville began to grow rapidly due to its location along the DuPage River which provided water power for mills. By 1850, Naperville had a population of over 2,000 people and boasted several manufacturing businesses including wagon making shops, blacksmiths' workshops, flour mills and distilleries. In addition to agriculture and industry growth within the town itself came an increase in transportation options connecting Naperville with other cities such as Chicago. In fact, the railroad played a significant role in transforming this small town into a thriving city during the late nineteenth century. By World War I era,Napervillians were primarily employed at companies like Kroehler Manufacturing Company – which made furniture - or at Western Clock Co., which made watch cases.Upon returning home from their service overseas following WWI soldiers found themselves competing for jobs against African Americans who migrated north looking for work during America’s first great migration period (1915-1930). While tensions did arise between these two groups they were able to eventually find common ground through involvement with organizations like Rotary Club – started up by both African Americans & whites.Napervilles economy continued growing throughout most of the 20th century, with new businesses and industries moving into the area. However, like many cities in America, Naperville also experienced challenges such as economic downturns and social tensions. One significant event that changed the course of Naperville's history was the construction of Interstate 88 in the late 1950s. This highway provided easy access to Chicago and other surrounding areas, leading to a surge in population growth and development of suburban subdivisions. The city's demographics shifted from primarily white residents to a more diverse community. In recent years, Naperville has continued to evolve into a modern city while still preserving its rich history. In 1979,the historic district was established by the National Register of Historic Places which includes over two hundred buildings dating back as far as early nineteenth century – these include original homes & commercial structures built by local craftsmen & settlers.Naperville is also home to North Central College,a small liberal arts institution founded in 1861 that remains an integral part of the community today. Today,Napervilles downtown area is vibrant with numerous shops, dining options, and entertainment venues. The Riverwalk,is one of its most iconic attractions;stretching over one mile along DuPage river,it features beautiful gardens, fountains, parks, and public art displays. It serves as a gathering place for residents and visitors alike all year round. Naperville has also been recognized for its outstanding school system, making it an ideal place for families. With several highly-ranked public schools and private institutions within its borders,it has earned national recognition for academic excellence.Additionally,Napervillians have access to world-class healthcare facilities including Edward Hospital,a state-of-the-art medical center that serves not only Naperville, but also surrounding communities. The city continues to thrive economically through initiatives such as "Accelerate,"a business incubator program aimed at supporting start-ups.In addition, the annual "Last Fling" festival brings together thousands each Labor Day weekend providing an economic boost to local businesses. In terms of cultural diversity, Naperville has come a long way since its early days. In 2018,the city was named one of the top ten most diverse cities in America by Niche.com. It also hosts several events throughout the year that celebrate different cultures and traditions such as the annual "Naperville's India Day Parade" and "Oktoberfest." In conclusion,Naperville's rich history is a testament to its resilience and ability to adapt to change. The city has evolved from a small farming community into a thriving modern metropolis while still preserving its historic charm. As it continues to grow, Naperville remains committed to maintaining its strong sense of community and providing residents with an exceptional quality of life.

Naperville, Illinois is a city located in DuPage and Will counties, about 30 miles west of Chicago. The area was first settled by European-Americans in 1831 when Joseph Naper arrived with his family from Ohio. He established a sawmill on the banks of the DuPage River and built several log cabins to house his family and workers. In 1832, Naperville became the official name of the settlement after it was selected as the county seat for newly formed DuPage County. The town grew rapidly throughout the mid-19th century due to its location along both stagecoach routes and railroads, making it an important transportation hub for goods and people traveling between Chicago and other settlements to the west. During this time, Naperville developed into a thriving agricultural community with farms producing wheat, corn, oats, hay, dairy products, and livestock. During the early 20th century, Naperville continued to thrive as a small but prosperous community. The city's first electric streetlights were installed in 1909 and by 1911, it had its own municipal water system. In addition, new businesses such as a clothing factory and a dairy processing plant opened in town. In the decades following World War II, Naperville experienced significant growth both economically and in population. The construction of major highways such as Interstate 88 made it easier for residents to commute to nearby cities for work while still being able to enjoy the peacefulness of suburban living. Today,Naperville is known for its highly ranked public school system, low crime rates, and numerous parks and recreational activities. It has also been recognized as one of the best places to live in America by various publications.Naperville remains an attractive place for families with its strong sense of community,a variety of housing options, and diverse job opportunities. In recent years, the downtown area has undergone revitalization efforts, making it a popular destination for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Crest Pontoons, also known as Crest Marine, is a premier pontoon manufacturer that has been in the boating industry for over 60 years. The company was founded in 1957 by Charles Heald and began its operations in Owosso, Michigan. However, it wasn't until the mid-2000s that Crest Pontoons found its permanent home in Naperville, Illinois. The history of Crest Pontoons dates back to the post-World War II era when Mr. Heald started building wooden boats under the name "Healdcraft." As demand for recreational boats increased during this time period, Mr. Heald saw an opportunity to expand his business and began experimenting with aluminum pontoons. In 1963, after several successful prototypes and designs, Mr. Heald officially changed the company's name to "Crest Pontoon Co." and focused solely on manufacturing aluminum pontoons. This shift proved to be a smart move as aluminum pontoons quickly gained popularity due to their durability and low maintenance costs compared to traditional wooden boats. Throughout the following decades, Crest Pontoon Co continued to grow and innovate its product line. In the late 1970s, they introduced folding rails which allowed their boats to fit through standard garage doors for easy storage during winter months. They also developed custom-built trailers specifically designed for their pontoon models. In 1984, Charles' son Roger took over as president of Crest Pontoon Co., bringing fresh ideas and modernization to the company's operations. Under his leadership, Crest expanded into new markets such as Canada and Europe while continuously improving its production processes. However, it wasn't until Roger's son Steve joined the family business that significant changes were made within Crest Pontoon Co.'s structure. In 1995 Steve became CEO of Crest Marine LLC (the new name adopted by then) with a mission of transforming it into one of the industry's leading manufacturers. Steve's vision for Crest Marine included expanding its product line to include luxury and high-performance models, as well as incorporating advanced technology and design elements into their boats. In 2003, Steve introduced an all-new pontoon concept called the "Crest II," which featured a sleeker look with rounded corners, improved handling, and increased stability on the water. The success of the new Crest II model caught the attention of Brunswick Corporation in 2005. Brunswick acquired Crest Marine LLC that same year and moved its production facility from Owosso, Michigan to Naperville, Illinois in order to expand its operations while taking advantage of Chicago's central location for shipping purposes. The move to Naperville proved beneficial for both Crest Pontoons and Brunswick Corporation. With a larger manufacturing space and access to top-notch talent in the area, they were able to increase production capacity while maintaining their high-quality standards. This led to a significant growth in sales for Crest Pontoons over the next few years. In addition to being located near major highways and railways, Naperville provided other advantages such as proximity to O'Hare International Airport which made it easier for dealers and customers from around the world to visit their facilities. Today, under Brunswick Corporation's ownership, Crest Pontoons continues pushing boundaries by introducing innovative technologies such as CZONE digital switching system which allows boaters complete control over lighting systems, audio equipment, navigation devices with just one touch screen display. They also offer customizable options including floor plans, furniture designs, and exterior color schemes catering towards different customer preferences. Crest Pontoons is a leading manufacturer of luxury pontoon boats, known for their high-quality craftsmanship and innovative design. Founded in 1957 by Charles Hebert Sr., Crest has been a staple in the boating industry for over six decades. The company initially started as a small family business operating out of Owosso, Michigan. However, with its commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction, Crest quickly grew into a well-respected brand within the boating community. Today, they have two manufacturing facilities located in Owosso and Greenville, Michigan. One of the main reasons for Crest's success is its dedication to providing customers with top-of-the-line products that meet their evolving needs. The company continuously invests in research and development to create new designs and innovations that enhance the boating experience. Crest Pontoons offers a wide range of models to cater to different preferences and budgets. Whether you are looking for an entry-level boat or a fully equipped luxury vessel, there is something for everyone at Crest. Their pontoons come in various sizes ranging from 18 feet up to 30 feet long, allowing customers to choose based on their desired capacity. One of the standout features of Crest Pontoons is its patented tube design known as "Waveglider." This unique hull design ensures superior stability and handling even in rough waters while also reducing drag and increasing fuel efficiency. Additionally, all pontoons are made using marine-grade aluminum construction techniques that make them incredibly durable yet lightweight. Moreover, comfort is not compromised on any Crest Pontoon model; each boat comes equipped with plush seating options designed for maximum relaxation on the water. Customers can customize their pontoon's seating arrangement according to their needs – whether it be lounge-style seats or swivel chairs – ensuring every trip on board is comfortable. Another aspect that sets Crest apart from other pontoon manufacturers is its emphasis on technology integration. Each boat comes standard with a Simrad GO5 XSE digital display, allowing users to access navigation, engine data, and other features. Customers can also opt for upgrades such as LED lighting packages, premium sound systems, and underwater lights. Crest Pontoons is also committed to sustainable practices in its manufacturing processes. The company uses eco-friendly materials and construction techniques that minimize waste and reduce their environmental impact. Additionally, Crest has partnered with the American Forests Foundation to plant trees for each boat sold – making them one of the first pontoon manufacturers to have a carbon-neutral program. In addition to their commitment to quality products, Crest Pontoons also prides itself on outstanding customer service. Their dealer network spans across North America, ensuring customers have easy access to sales representatives and technicians wherever they are located. The company offers an extended warranty on all its boats accompanied by exceptional after-sales support.
